The new Nissan Navara N-Trek Warrior

What’s in a name anyway?

Nissan Australia has paired up with Australian automotive engineering experts, Premcar to develop and release a higher spec variant of the Navara. Named the Navara N-Trek Warrior (which rolls off the tongue oh-so-easy), the N-Trek is designed to take vehicles such as the Toyota HiLux Rugged X, the Ford Ranger Raptor, and the HSV Colorado SportsCat head on.

Premcar and Nissan have made several changes to the model over the base model Navara including:
  • New moulded-in bullbar that contours in close to the body
  • LED light bar
  • New tow bar
  • 15mm suspension lift
  • Uprated shock absorbers, designed to handle heavier duty off-road abuse
  • Newly designed 17” alloy wheels
  • OE tyres have been changed to Cooper All Terrains (more on that in just a bit)
The suspension lift, along with the higher profile tyres results in a vehicle that has a total ground clearance of 268mm, up from 226mm on the standard RX twin turbo dual cab model. While the new alloys increase the track by 15mm each side. The end result is a taller and wider flagship Navara.

As part of the suspension and handling changes, Premcar has fitted the Cooper Discoverer AT3LT All-Terrain, in 275/70/17 sizing. With a load rating of 121R and warrantied in Australia for 80,000kms, Nissan is the latest to factory-fit a premium All Terrain to their high end 4x4. Tread depth is 13.1mm, which is about par for the course compared to its competitors.
The twin turbo 2.3 litre 4-cylinder diesel remains unchanged from the standard model, as is the choice of the 6 speed manual or 7 speed auto.

The N-Trek Warrior is available now from Nissan Australia.
