Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 060+ Reviews

Dunlop Logo
The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 060+ is the new flagship asymmetric high-performance tyre for both passenger and SUV vehicles. Offers exceptional high-speed stability in both wet and dry conditions. Significant improvement in tyre life, combined with wet braking and dry handling stability make the new SP Sport Maxx 060+ the choice for the passionate motorist.

Key Features

  • Sustainable Silica Dispersion Agent for improved tyre life - The adoption of the natural “Sustainable Silica Dispersion Agent”, allows for stronger bonding between rubber and silica while also preventing the clustering of silica particles. This in turn allows for an increase in the overall amount of silica included in rubber compounds in order to provide superior performance in terms of both wet grip and wear resistance. Moreover, since the agent is derived from natural products, it also contributes to a reduction in environmental impact.
  • Wider grooves with greater rigidity - Wider grooves optimise water evacuation for enhanced performance on wet roads, while greater rigidity allows higher levels of performance when cornering.
  • Increased footprint by 14% - A larger area in contact with the road provides for a more confident drive experience for high-performance vehicles. Asymmetric design for excellent wet and dry performance.
  • “Nano Black” sidewall lettering - “Nano Black”, a new micro engraving technology for a deeper black sidewall coloring, improving the visibility & appearance of the sidewall by absorbing the light.

As a follow up to my past review, I think I hate it more after all these kms on it. The tyres wear out quite quickly and requires balancing every 5K to 6 k kms. Had to drive in the rains recently and the tyres aquaplaned and traction control had to intervene. That said, the rolling resistance is higher compared to the Bridgestone T005A and as a result brakes slightly better.

Replaced my fairly old set of Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tyres. Quieter than expected and quieter than Bridgestones Dry grip is better than the Bridgestones, but it has not been raining much so I have not been able to test the Dunlop's wet grip Much more comfortable and stable than the Bridgestones at both city speed and motorway speed Too early to comment about fuel use and treadwear

Great value for money, nice improvement on the 050 pattern. I don't go easy on them and they still have reasonable tread.

I was on Bridgestone Turanza T005A and replaced it after 55,688kms with Dunlop Sport Maxx 060+. It feels very sticky on the road, as if all tyres are under inflated. While the ride is slightly softer than the Bridgestone Turanza T 005A, the tyre is extremely noisy. Given that the Dunlop is a Y rated tyre I expected the steering to be precise, but that is not the case, it is pretty vague comapred to the Bridgestone's W rated tyres. No wonder they were 10% cheaper than Bridgestone's. Now the most important thing, would I buy it again? I am afraid I would not.
