These were the original (OEM) tyres fitted to the vehicle when I purchased the vehicle new in 2005. I used these as I wanted to get a feel for what I wanted to do with the vehicle in terms of use and accessories fitted. As an original equipment tyre and for someone who is only interested in using the vehicle to drive around the suburbs, these tyres barely pass the test, although the tyres are reasonably quiet on road and a little noisier when the road is wet, these tyres are neither confidence inspiring or for those that load their vehicle up either with people - the vehicle is an eight seater version, or with a trailer or caravan attached..The tyres are woefully inadequate when going off road as the tyres have a rather weak sidewall prone to cuts and punctures and the tread is useless on anything but a dry well graded gravel road. If the road is wet, slippery or muddy, no matter how capable the driver or the vehicle, without the ability to shed mud the tyres quickly fill up with mud and lose all traction making any sort of off tar driving only for good weather and good roads. As more weight was added to the vehicle through various accessories and luggage for trips, the tyres showed signs of excessive wear between lightly loaded trips and heavily loaded trips and as the tyres aged the tyres appeared to wear quicker towards the end of their tread depth. As an OEM tyre they were also quite expensive to replace, and other options were sourced for replacement based on the intended future use of the vehicle and the price point for replacement. The tyres were reasonably quiet, however as the tyres wore, they did become noisier and were harder to balance. The tyres wore evenly across all four tyres during their40000 kilometre life; however the tyres were rotated regularly at each service, and one would have expected even wear from a permanent four-wheel drive configuration.  As the tyres were fitted to the vehicle at purchase, I saw no need to replace the tyres immediately, although having said that, if I were planning a round Australia trip with a new vehicle 'straight off the showroom floor' I would consider replacing the tyres with a more appropriate Light Truck construction all- terrain type tyre for peace of mind and  longevity if heavily loaded. Only recommended for those who have no intention of leaving a sealed road or for those who vehicles are predominately utilised for shorter around town trips.
