Advantages of Correct Inflation Pressure
Proper tyre inflation pressure is just one way to save money and improve the longevity of your vehicle. It allows you, the driver, to experience tyre comfort, durability and performance designed to match the needs of your chosen vehicle. You should check your tyre pressure (all five of them - don’t forget your spare!) around once a month and it’s relatively simple to do.
The advantages of correct inflation pressure make for a pretty solid argument as to why you should keep onto it. To prove this, we’ve made a list of them:
Safety: incorrectly inflated tyres can cause uneven wear, greatly increase your chances of a blow out and impact on your vehicle’s ability to brake and handle effectively.
Durability: correctly inflated tyres are much more likely to last longer than those that aren’t. When not monitored, tyres can lose between 1 to 2 PSI every month.
Financially: under inflated tyres can increase fuel consumption by around 5%. Good tyre pressure not only improves fuel efficiency but can prolong the life of your tyres by preventing unnecessary and uneven wear.
